The Children's Ministry at Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel focuses on nurturing the spiritual growth of children through engaging, age-appropriate programming. We hope to create a safe, loving environment where children can learn about God through the Bible, build friendships with peers and leaders, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.

Key Elements of our Children's Ministry:
-
Biblical Teaching: Lessons are rooted in Scripture, emphasizing core Christian beliefs and values. The curriculum is designed to be relatable and accessible, allowing children to understand and apply biblical principles in their daily lives.
-
Hands-On Activities: Activities such as crafts, games, and music are integrated to reinforce lessons and make learning enjoyable. These interactive elements help children engage with the material in a memorable way.
-
Community Building: We seek to foster a sense of belonging through small groups, where children can form friendships and support one another in their faith journeys. Leaders are trained to guide discussions and encourage participation.
-
Family Involvement: Recognizing the role of families in spiritual development, we encourage parental involvement through events, resources, and regular communication. Families are encouraged to participate in worship and community activities.
-
Missions Awareness: Children are introduced to the concept of missions and service, helping them understand their role in sharing the gospel and serving others. We try to make missions real to our kids through partnerships with our missionaries and other global outreach projects.

Approach to Correction:
Our Children’s Ministry emphasizes a positive and grace-filled approach to discipline:
-
Guidance Over Punishment: The focus is on guiding children to understand appropriate behavior rather than simply punishing misbehavior. Leaders model Christ-like behavior and communicate expectations clearly.
-
Restorative Practices: When conflicts arise, the ministry encourages children to resolve issues through conversation, understanding, and forgiveness, reflecting the teachings of Jesus.
-
Consistency and Fairness: Discipline practices are consistent and fair, ensuring all children understand the rules and consequences. This helps create a safe environment where children feel respected and valued.
-
Encouragement and Praise: Positive reinforcement is used to encourage desired behaviors, helping children recognize their strengths and the impact of their actions on others.
Overall our Children's Ministry aims to cultivate a supportive environment where children can grow in their faith, learn about God's love, and develop character that reflects Christ.
